Register with the HRPA
Thank you for your interest in registering with the HRPA. When you join, you’ll become part of a dynamic community of HR professionals dedicated to continuous learning, ethical practice, and advancing the HR profession.
NOTE: If you already have an HRPA login (for example, because you have been a member in the past), do not complete this process and instead follow the process under “Already have an account with HRPA.”

What to have ready/available
|
|
Practitioner
|
Practitioner is our main registration class for new applicants. It applies whether or not you are currently practising HR.
|
|
|
Student
|
Join as a student if you are
- enrolled full-time in an HR program at an accredited Ontario post-secondary institution and you are taking HRPA-approved courses, and
- not working full-time.
|
- Credit card
- One of the following: a copy of your course registration, a letter from your school, or an unofficial transcript
|
|
Allied Professional
|
Join as an allied professional if you are a current member of another self-regulated profession in Ontario.
After you have submitted your application, please ask your regulatory body to submit a Certificate of Standing directly to registration@hrpa.ca. The HRPA will process your application after this document is received.

|
Internationally Educated Professional (IEP)
|
New resident of Canada (meaning you have been a resident of Canada for less then 2 years and are thus eligible for the "IEP" rate.
|
- Proof of permanent residency status in Canada within the past 24 months (copy of front and back of PR card or open work permit)
- Credit card
|

After you apply
Once your payment is processed and your application is approved, payments are not refundable.
Upon approval, we will add your name to the HRPA’s online Public Register and update your registrant status from “Pending” to “Active.”
You will then receive a welcome email and begin to enjoy all the benefits of HRPA registration.
Already have an account with HRPA
If you were previously an HRPA member or student, please follow the instructions below.
- Click on “Member and Student Login”
- Enter the email address associated with your previous record and password
- Click on “Dashboard” below the Search icon
- From your Dashboard, click on the “Not Registered? Start a New Registration Application” button and go through the 5 steps until you reach the checkout page
- Click on “Express Check-Out,” enter payment information, then click on “Submit Order”
- A receipt will be sent via email once the payment is processed
