NOTE: If you already have an HRPA log-in (for example, because you have been a member in the past), do not complete this process and instead follow the process under the heading that is about halfway down this page called “If you were previously an HRPA member or student.”
Determine which registration class applies to you.
Registration Class
Description
Practitioner
Practitioner is our main registration class for new applicants. It applies whether or not you are currently practising HR.
Student
Join as a student if you are
Allied Professional
Join as an allied professional if you are a current member of another self-regulated profession in Ontario.
After you have submitted your application, please ask your regulatory body to submit a Certificate of Standing directly to registration@hrpa.ca. The HRPA will process your application after this document is received.
Internationally Educated Professional (IEP)
New resident of Canada (meaning you have been a resident of Canada for less than 2 years and are thus eligible for the “IEP” rate
Proof of permanent residency status in Canada within the past 24 months (copy of front and back of PR card or open work permit).
Collect the following and have them ready before you start.

Allied professional
New resident of Canada (meaning you have been a resident of Canada for less than 2 years and are thus eligible for the “IEP” rate)
Will answer “yes” to a “good character” question
Click “Create account and sign-in” and complete the application.
Dues vary by registration class. View current dues.
Once your payment is processed and your application is approved, payments are not refundable.
Upon approval, we will add your name to the HRPA’s online Public Register and update your registrant status from “Pending” to “Active.”
You will then receive a welcome email and begin to enjoy all the benefits of HRPA registration.
