An energetic and creative problem solver with 18 years of experience, Patrizia Piccolo is dedicated to providing her clients with excellent legal counsel and client service. She is a partner in the law firm of Rubin Thomlinson, LLP. Patrizia is a trusted legal advisor to senior executives in transition; provides strategic advice and training to both large and small employers and their human resources and management teams; and is entrusted by employers and their counsel to conduct investigations into harassment and other problematic workplace behaviour. Whether advising an employee or an employer, Patrizia’s employment law practice covers all aspects of the employment relationship from hiring, performance management and workplace restructuring, to termination advice. Patrizia also advises employers on employment related regulatory issues including, the Employment Standards Act, the Human Rights Code, the Labour Relations Act and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act compliance. Patrizia is often quoted in the media on matters relating to the workplace and has written articles for the Mississauga News.

Nafisah Chowdhury is a Partner at Miller Thomson LLP, practicing in employment and commercial litigation. She provides advice to businesses of all sizes on a broad range of matters, including navigating workplace issues, resolving shareholder disputes, and addressing privacy law concerns. She regularly appears before the Courts and assists with cases before various administrative tribunals.
Nafisah completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Waterloo in 2004 and obtained her law degree from the University of Toronto in 2007. She is involved in various community projects and is an executive member of the Ontario Bar Association’s Labour and Employment Law section.

Sarah has been an Associate at Rekai LLP, a boutique corporate immigration law firm in Toronto, since 2014. She practices Canadian citizenship and immigration law exclusively.

Sarah’s practice encompasses a variety of immigration matters, including: business visitor entry, labour market impact assessments, employer compliance reviews, work permits, study permits, visitor records, temporary resident visas, temporary resident permits, criminal rehabilitation, permanent residence and citizenship.

Sarah has experience offering strategic legal advice and assistance to large multinationals, small businesses, start-ups and individuals to facilitate both short and long term employment of skilled foreign workers (and secure valid legal status documents for their accompanying spouses and dependent children) in a wide range of sectors, including, technology, engineering, construction, manufacturing, academic, healthcare, financial services, tourism, food and beverage, and the transition of those individuals to permanent residence and citizenship.

Prior to joining Rekai LLP, Sarah gained several years of corporate immigration law experience with the Toronto office of a prominent international law firm while completing the accreditation process to become licensed to practice law in Ontario.

As an immigrant to Canada, Sarah has first-hand experience with many of the applications that she now handles for her clients and can personally relate to the challenges involved in navigating the ever-changing landscape of Canadian citizenship and immigration law.

Sarah is the current Vice-Chair of the Ontario Bar Association’s Citizenship and Immigration Executive.

Paul Lomic is an intellectual property and social media lawyer at Lomic Law. Paul's practice is focused on resolving intellectual property and commercial disputes, including matters involving patents, trademarks, copyright, social media/internet and confidential information.

As a registered trademark agent, Paul conducts opposition and cancellation proceedings and assists his clients with managing and protecting their trademark portfolios.

Paul is a Fellow of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada. Paul is a frequent contributor to legal education seminars and legal publications. Paul is the editor and an author of two books: Intellectual Property Litigation - Forms and Precedents (2016) and Social Media and Internet Law - Forms and Precedents (2014), both published by LexisNexis. Paul is also the general editor for Communications Law in Canada published by LexisNexis.

Paul received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. from the University of Waterloo, his P.h.D. in forestry from the University of Toronto, and his LL.B. from Queen's University.
