Today's HR leaders are expected to balance legal compliance, business performance, employee experience, and emerging technologies—all while making complex workplace decisions with confidence. Join employment law and HR experts Nancy Tavares (Paladin Security) and Nadia Zaman (Rudner Law) for two insightful sessions that explore how strategic HR practices and sound legal frameworks can work together to drive stronger organizational outcomes.

Practical HR Law: Strategic Contracts & Policies, AI, and High-Stakes HR Decisions - Nadia Zaman, Rudner Law

Practical HR law session discussing the importance of strategic contracts and policies, AI in hiring, and strategy with respect to performance management, accommodation and terminations.
Learning Objectives:
Strong HR strategy requires more than compliance. It requires sound judgment, forward-looking thinking, and the ability to make effective decisions in complex workplace situations. In this session, Nadia will examine the strategic role of employment contracts and workplace policies, emerging legal and practical considerations related to the use of AI in hiring, and key decision points in performance management, accommodation, and termination processes. Grounded in real-world workplace issues, the session will provide HR professionals with a practical framework for approaching high-stakes decisions more proactively, thoughtfully, and strategically. By the end of this session, participants will be able to: - identify how employment contracts and workplace policies can be used as strategic tools to reduce risk and support better workplace outcomes; - recognize key legal and practical considerations related to the use of AI in hiring, as well as common risk areas in performance management, accommodation, and termination decisions; and - apply a more proactive, strategic, and legally informed approach to high-stakes HR decision-making.

Where Employment Law Meets HR Strategy: Driving Business Results Through Policy Modernization, AI Hiring, and Performance Management - Nancy Tavares, Paladin Security
Practical case studies demonstrating how modern HR leaders can align legal compliance, technology, and performance management to improve organizational outcomes.
Learning Objectives:
Assess how strategic policy modernization and employment law considerations can be aligned to mitigate organizational risk, support compliance, and enable business objectives through a real-world case study demonstrating the iterative review and enhancement of workplace policies. Evaluate the opportunities, risks, and governance requirements associated with the use of artificial intelligence in recruitment by examining a practical case study of AI-enabled hiring, including implementation considerations, candidate experience, legislative compliance, and business performance metrics. Apply performance management, accommodation, and employee relations strategies through real-world examples that illustrate how continuous process improvements, data-informed decision-making, and manager accountability can strengthen organizational performance and drive measurable business results.
