Grand Valley: 01.14.2021 - Inclusive Hiring Works - Ready, Willing and Able (Webinar)
Join three amazing speakers as they share with you the importance of Diversity and Inclusion and speak specifically about the most under-represented population of all equity seeking groups: persons with disabilities, specifically people with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities. They will share strategies in recruiting diverse talent, targeting persons with disabilities, how to overcome misconceptions, stereotypes and biases, delivering inclusive interviews and supporting staff with an intellectual disability and autism. In addition, they would like to highlight some success stories Ready, Willing and Able has contributed to over the years, share the economic benefits of hiring inclusively and do a call to action to the participants, inviting them to connect with us to explore collaborating in the future.

Speakers:
Meggie Stewart
Meggie has 15 years of experience serving the autism community and has spent the last 5 years in the diversity and inclusion space with the Ready, Willing and Able initiative. She is a Canadian Certified Inclusion Professional and is currently taking the Award of Achievement in Diversity and Inclusion program through the University of British Columbia. Meggie is a passionate advocate for inclusion and is committed to breaking down barriers and providing equitable access for neuro-diverse people.
Jackie Moore
Jackie Moore Jackie has experience in Retail management and management of Non-Profits as well as supporting business to be reflective of the community they serve. Jackie brings to RWA experiences in understanding what employers need, as well as first hand supporting persons with intellectual disabilities to navigate competitive employment.
Siobhan Costelloe
Siobhan Costelloe as a long time champion for inclusion, Siobhan has provided direct support to neuro-diverse individuals for over a decade, including as a youth mentorship coordinator connecting students with disabilities to members of the community who helped uncover their passions and develop meaningful roles in their communities. Siobhan is currently completing the Leadership and Inclusion certificate program jointly offered by Centennial College and the Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion. Siobhan continues this work by championing diversity and inclusion in the workplace through RWA.
