During this event we will cover an over-view of our year in the Peel Chapter at our Annual Business Meeting (ABM), followed by recognition of our newly designated members and our volunteers.

After the ABM, we will have our special presentation Facilitating Safer Space with Keagan Hobson.

Facilitating Safer Spaces, foundational knowledge and considering institutional inclusion.
This workshop will cover some key concepts, terms and foundational knowledge that support workers in engaging in critical conversations about facilitating 2S-LGBTQ+ inclusion.

  • Exploring the impacts of genuine diversity management efforts, what this can look like, and why this is important and valuable work to engage in.
  • Considering the steps we can take, today, to create a lasting impact and shift toward institutional inclusion.
  • Understanding the historical context and legal realities for 2SLGBTQ+ communities, and how this can show up in recruitment and the workplace.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Through a deeper understanding of historical context and current day realities, participants will be able to identify 2 or more action items which can be utilized to advance ethical behaviour and professionalism.
  2. Participants will develop relationship management skills through empathy building, as well as confidence in language and strategies to build rapport.
  3. In considering and exploring genuine diversity management efforts, participants will strengthen their overall leadership skills and will be able to engage in peer-reviewed best practices that facilitate 2SLGBTQ+ inclusion at all levels of workplace operation.

A “no show/late cancellation” fee will be charged if cancellation is not provided to chaptercancellations@hrpa.ca at least 3 business days in advance.

Registrations will NOT be accepted at the door.
