A negotiation is a conversation between individuals or groups that is used to reach an agreement. Human resources professionals are called upon to use negotiation skills in different types of situations on a regular basis. Balancing the interests of all parties involved and meeting interests and needs can be challenging. Whether you are involved in navigating difficult conversations about organizational change or working with a team to design a new work schedule this balancing act can be stressful. In this session, we will connect negotiation strategies to five conflict communication styles. With this greater awareness of negotiation and conflict styles, one can become more aware of how to bring your non-anxious presence into these conversations.

In this interactive session, you will learn questions to ask that can identify underlying interests and needs in order build understanding and find path forward. The emphasis will be on transforming negotiations and improving relationships.
