A legislative update regarding employment, human resources, labour and safety laws. This event will provide HR Professionals with updated knowledge regarding legislative obligations with respect to various employee entitlements. Issues will include Bill 27, Bill 88, Incoming Changes to the Competition act, Employment Contracts, Issues Impacting Enforceability of Termination Clauses, Overtime Exemptions and Misclassifications, Independent Contractor Misclassifications, Practical Advice for Avoiding Common Mistakes At the Time of Termination and Following Termination, and Accommodation of Mental Health Disabilities.
Note: The Annual Business Meeting (ABM) portion of today’s event will include a report on Chapter activities, volunteer and newly designated member recognition, and an introduction of our 2023/2024 Chapter Board.
