The Employer Checklist - Keeping track of all that you need to keep track of. The purpose of this presentation is to give attendees a framework to be able to conduct a health check of their organization’s employment law compliance with the various pieces of legislation which govern Ontario workplaces and help chart a path for moving forward.
At the end of the presentation attendees will have a list of which Ontario workplace policies are mandatory and which are recommended, what training must be provided, and when, as well key information which must be communicated to employees at various stages of the employment relationship. The presentation will also address best practices in terms of assessing the enforceability of your employment contracts and identify key areas where employment contracts are challenged.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Employment law
This presentation will provide an overview of key legislative obligations under the Employment Standards Act, 2000; the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act; the Ontario Human Rights Code; the AODA amongst others and help HR leaders assess whether their organization is compliant with the various training, policy and information requirements under each of those acts.
Project management
Participants will be better prepared to effectively manage the employment relationship from onboarding to exit with a step by step guide of what steps and information needs to be provided at each stage of the employment relationship.
Strategic Planning
Participants will be provided with information about how to ensure ongoing compliance and minimize future employment law risks through regular monitoring and assessment of key areas of risk.
