The session will cover the latest developments and implications of the Ontario government's passing of Bill 149, which includes amendments to Ontario's Employment Standards Act, 2000 (the "ESA") in respect of pay transparency, AI disclosure, and vacation pay, and other upcoming amendments to the ESA. In particular, we will examine the purpose and scope of the key changes introduced by Bill 149, which enhances the enforcement and protection of workers' rights under the ESA.

Kelly helps clients identify and implement strategies to mitigate workplace related legal risks, including risks related to wrongful dismissal, constructive dismissal, misclassification and human rights claims by employees. She provides tailored advice to clients on best practices for complying with employment standards, human rights, workplace safety, and employee privacy laws. Kelly regularly negotiates contractual agreements on behalf of employers, including executive employment and consulting agreements, restrictive covenant terms, as well as termination arrangements for departing employees. She also routinely represents clients in response to wrongful dismissal, constructive dismissal, misclassification, human rights, as well as other employees claims and complaints.
