Join us after Algoma's ABM as we dive into key topics to understand in ontario employment law.  Craig Lawrence and Larysa Workewych will provides insights to employers to help them manage the continued uncertainty of COVID-19, participants will learn about how to address workplace issues and mitigate risks relating to the COVID-19 pandemic, including with respect to remote working, work refusals, vaccinations and public health orders.

Learning Objectives: 

  1. Identify and address the risks associated with remote working.
  2. Navigate different types of employee work refusals.
  3. Develop and/or update workplace policies related to COVID-19

Speaker bio(s)
Craig Lawrence

Craig Lawrence is a partner in our Employment and Labour group. His practice involves advising and representing employers in a variety of labour matters, including union certifications, collective bargaining, grievance arbitrations, and proceedings before federal and provincial labour relations boards. In addition to his labour work, Craig regularly acts on behalf of employers in employment matters, such as wrongful dismissal litigation, human rights applications, employment contracts and policies, workforce reorganizations, employment standards and pay equity. Craig has appeared before the Ontario Court of Appeal, Divisional Court, a broad array of labour and employment tribunals, as well as numerous arbitrators and mediators. Prior to joining Dentons, Craig practiced at a prominent management-side labour and employment boutique firm in Toronto.

Larysa Workewych

Larysa Workewych is an associate in our employment and Labour group. In her practice, Larysa advises employers in all areas of employment and labor law, including employment contracts and policies, terminations and wrongful dismissals, human rights and workplace accommodations, and employment standards. Larysa joined Dentons as a summer student in 2017 and articled with the Firm in 2018-2019.
