Four million Ontarians are caring for someone with a physical, or mental health need with approximately 2.5 million in the workforce. 68% of the 4 million caregivers across province are between the ages of 26 – 63, which can be high points within one’s career. 45% of Ontario’s working caregivers report that balancing care with work is stressful, while 74% are actively making changes to their employment as they try to cope.
There are ways to better support caregiving employees so they can continue to share their valuable knowledge and skills in the workplace while caring for those who need them. OCO’s suite of tools and free information sessions can help you build a caregiver-inclusive workplace. Join us for a session with the Ontario Caregiver Organization to learn more and gain access to free resources that can help you to retain caregiving employees while providing them with supportive resources.
