Featured Themes for November 16th Meeting:

Topic: HR’s Role In Technology Disruption

There’s no denying that technological changes have completed changed the business landscape over the past few decades. The world of work is nearly unrecognizable from what it was 30 years ago, and with this rapid pace of change comes significant disruption.

These technological advancements can offer limitless opportunity for us in the workplace, and beyond – but as human resources professionals, we have to ensure that we don’t lose the “human touch.” In this presentation, Faith Tull of Randstad Canada will discuss how that dichotomy relates to the role HR plays in facilitating technological change.

Presenter:

Faith Tull, Chief People Officer at Randstad Canada

Topic: Flex Work in the Gig Economy

Workplace and career flexibility has becoming increasingly important for employees – and particularly for the many women who want to hold roles other than just “employee.”

For many talented employees, the traditional 9-to-5 routine just doesn’t work anymore. This is especially true of those who are caregivers or have family responsibilities – and this valuable talent may find flexible work configurations much more desirable.

In this session, her Naomi Titleman discuss why flexibility has become such a draw in the current market – and how employees and organizations can use it to their advantage.

Presenter:

Naomi Titleman, Founder of Collaborativity Leadership Advisory, former CHRO of Amex Canada

There are many different “Top Employer” awards handed out each year, and the title seems to become more and more coveted. But after the awards banquet and the speeches, what does a “Top Employer” title really mean for the ideas, attitudes and perceptions of work?

Join Larry Indovina for an insightful discussion on measuring “Top Employer” status – and what it means for the workplace.
