A Complete Guide to Employment Law is a comprehensive program that provides HR professionals with the tools to protect their organizations and navigate potential legal pitfalls related to recruitment, employee performance and termination or resignation issues.

This online workshop provides a complete picture of common law and Employment Standards Act, 2000 concepts with a focus on Ontario law. HR professionals attending this seminar will receive a solid foundation in Ontario employment law, and receive a comprehensive update on recent caselaw examples and trends.

Logistics Details:

This Program combines live virtual instruction with hands-on experiential learning through case studies, scenarios, discussions and simulations.
Live Virtual Sessions: There will be online instructor-led modules, during which practical examples and experiences will be shared.

    (We request attendees log on 30-minutes prior to the first session to test the technology, organize resources and record attendance.)

  • April 15, 2021 (Session 3 – 10:00AM-12:00PM;  Session 4– 2:30PM – 4:30PM)

Materials: Participants will be provided with session workbooks (digital format) to follow along with the content covered in each module and to take notes, as well as additional post-session materials for future use.
Peer Learning and Group Work: Participants will have the opportunity to learn from each other while answering questions and sharing experiences and observations during the modules, as well as through practical, hands-on exercises

Speaker bio(s)
Adam Guy, Partner, BLG LLP

Adam offers practical legal advice to employers on a full range of labour and employment matters, including dismissals and discipline; employment contracts and policies; human rights issues, such as discrimination and harassment; and workers' compensation, employment standards, and occupational health and safety matters.

He regularly represents employers in grievance arbitrations and before administrative tribunals including the Ontario Labour Relations Board, the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal. He has also appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Divisional Court.

Anna’s practice involves advising and representing employers in a wide range of labour and employment matters. This includes: wrongful dismissal litigation; labour disputes; grievance arbitrations; occupational health and safety; workplace safety and insurance; human rights applications; employment standards and contracts.
