This HR Power Lunch presentation will give an overview of the Ontario Human Rights Commission's Policy on ableism and discrimination based on disability, focusing on: the duty to accommodate occupational and non-occupational related disabilities; return to work in the pre-disability job and potential right to alternative work; responsibilities in the accommodation process including the duty to inquire and the provision of related medical or other information; limits on the duty to accommodate including undue hardship; and, preventing and responding to discrimination. Participants will have the opportunity to pose questions and discuss issues following the presentation.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Participants will enhance their: knowledge of relevant OHRC policies and resources; understanding of the employer's legal obligation to accommodate disability in the workplace under Ontario's Human Rights Code; and ability to advise on and apply the Code and OHRC policies to various situations.
