Although employers have the right to end the relationship with an employee, this right comes with legal obligations and corresponding pitfalls. In fact, if the termination is not done properly and lawfully, the damages that can result can be substantial. This session will offer guidance on an employer’s legal obligations with respect to terminations, how to structure a termination package and offer guidance on how to arrive at a negotiated outcome as opposed to a spending legal fees in litigation.
