Terminations are among the most complex and high-risk responsibilities faced by HR professionals and people leaders. This full day, practical workshop provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of employee terminations within the Ontario employment law framework.

Participants will explore the legal, procedural, and human aspects of ending the employment relationship, including performance-based terminations, terminations without cause, constructive dismissal, and mass terminations. Through real world scenarios, case law examples, and interactive discussions, participants will learn how to minimize legal risk, ensure compliance with the Employment Standards Act, and conduct terminations with professionalism, fairness, and empathy.

This workshop is designed to strengthen confidence and decision making when navigating difficult termination situations while balancing organizational needs, legal obligations, and respectful workplace practices.
