William Pallett

William Pallett was most recently the Senior Vice President of People Resources for Delta Hotels and Resorts based at the Corporate Office in Toronto (prior to establishing his own company). Mr. Pallett was responsible with guiding the Human Resources function, focusing on training, organization and management development, employee relations, total rewards, health & wellness, career development, and developing / implementing / reviewing all human resource initiatives, procedures and policies in order that they reflect Delta's objective: to be the best employer ‘of choice’ in the Canadian hospitality industry.

Mr. Pallett is an architect of Delta’s highly engaged culture. Delta is a leader in various human resources initiatives, being one of the first corporations in the industry to deploy their Valuing Healthy Minds program, a mental health & wellness initiative. It has been awarded Excellence Canada’s (previously the National Quality Institute) Canada Award for Excellence, the Canada Award for Excellence – Healthy Workplace® Award and most recently its highest distinction – the Order of Excellence Award. It has also been awarded Canada’s Aon/Hewitt 50 Best Companies to Work For In Canada award consistently for 14 years and the Tourism Industry Association of Canada / C.T.H.R.C. Excellence in Human Resources Development Award.

William J. Pallett was Director of Management Development for Four Seasons Hotels located at the corporate office in Toronto. In that position, he stewarded training initiatives in virtually every aspect of management for hotels throughout North America. Mr. Pallett and his team developed highly-innovative college recruitment and employee retention programs, and designed and implemented a unique career development / succession / planning / competency profiling system. Prior to joining Four Seasons in 1984, Mr. Pallett garnered a wealth of experience both inside and outside the service industry. He has held senior human resources positions in such organizations as Wardair Canada (now part of Air Canada), Canadian Pacific Hotels & Resorts (now known at Fairmont Hotels and Resorts and Rogers. He has also been a senior consultant specializing in management development and recruitment. A sought-after speaker / lecturer, Mr. Pallett has taught Business Administration and Human Resources Management related subjects at the British Columbia Institute of Technology in Vancouver and Ryerson Polytechnic University in Toronto. He has been a frequent guest speaker to professional associations including the Canadian Retail Council, Conference Board of Canada, the Ontario Hotel Motel Association and the Ontario and British Columbia Hotel Controllers Association, various provincial Human Resources Associations across Canada, as well as private industry groups throughout Canada and the United States. Mr. Pallett has his CHRE designation.


Jose Bansil

Jose Bansil was most recently the Director of Learning and Development for Delta Hotels and Resorts, where, for 14 years, he championed learning as a vital engine in enabling individuals and teams to maximize their contribution to the business. He led the L&D component of all of the organization’s key strategic and change initiatives, using his experience and expertise in learning needs analysis, program design and development, program delivery and facilitation, learning reinforcement and evaluation, including measuring learning ROI. He initiated, developed and maintained innovative development tools and processes including the company’s leadership competency model, leadership development process, employee development reviews, individual development plans, succession planning and 360 feedback tool. He has also gained and applied expertise in organizational development; and, he developed and deployed highly effective change initiatives and tools like the onboarding processes, performance development review cycle and brand training. He also led the establishment of the company’s eLearning system and has gained robust experience in eLearning development, Learning Management Systems and Vendor and Supplier Management.

Mr. Bansil has over 25 years of L&D experience from various industries, including hospitality, aviation and real estate and property management. He has the ability to take a micro and macro perspective of a situation; and, he has the unique capacity of combining his strong analytical skills and passion for metrics with his creativity and innovation. He is a Master Facilitator and has helped several organizations and business units in strategic planning and business development. He believes that successful companies have employees who are advocates of their brand. He is guided by the philosophy that learning is the main internal marketing machine that sells the brand to its employees and equips them with the skills, knowledge and attitudes to deliver what the brand promises to its customers.

Mr. Bansil has a Bachelor of Science in Education, majoring in Math and Physics. He has a Certificate in Human Resource Development from University of Toronto and a Certificate in Strategic Leadership for the Hospitality Professional from Cornell University. Mr. Bansil has his CTDP (Certified Training and Development Professional) designation.
