Northeastern Ontario: 10.17.17 Legislation Changes Update

The laws that govern us are ever-changing, and as a business owner it can be hard to keep up. Join employment lawyer Carly Stringer to hear about upcoming changes to the Labour Relations Act and the Employment Standards Act. From increasing vacation, to clarifying overtime calculations, to enhanced leave provisions, learn how the evolving framework will impact your business.

About the Speaker: Carly Stringer

Carly is an attorney with Stringer Law Professional Corporation in Timmins. Her clients include municipalities, businesses, not-for-profits and First Nations. She assists this diverse clientele with a wide range of commercial, construction, employment, and management issues.

Prior to founding Stringer Law, Carly worked at both a large national law firm on Bay Street, as well as a small local law firm in Timmins. From 2011 to 2012, she completed a prestigious clerkship at the Court of Appeal for Ontario, assisting judges with a range of civil and criminal matters.

Born and raised in Porcupine, Carly completed her undergraduate degree at The University of King's College in Halifax, Nova Scotia, majoring in International Development Studies with a minor in Spanish. She studied law at the University of Ottawa, obtaining her LL.B. concurrently with an M.A. in International Affairs.

Outside of the office, Carly sits on the Board of Governors for Northern College, and is a member of the Timmins Refugee Sponsorship Committee.
