This interactive workshop will give participants an overview and basic knowledge of Ontario’s workplace laws. The workshop will take participants through the areas of labour, employment, occupational health & safety and human rights laws in order to give a basic understanding of the most common issues facing employers today. The workshop is interactive in nature and utilizes various forms of media (i.e. pictures, graphs and videos) as well as engages participants through examples, role plays and questions.

The workshop is broken down into four sections:

Speaker bio(s)
Matthew Badrov

Matthew is a member of the Canadian Croatian Chamber of Commerce, Canadian Bar Association, Ontario Bar Association, and the Law Society of Upper Canada. He regularly writes and speaks on a wide range of employment and labour law issues, and has taught Labour Law at Conestoga College. Matthew obtained his law degree from University of Windsor and holds a Bachelor of Arts, Honours Degree, in Criminal justice and Public Policy from University of Guelph. He was the recipient of the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law J.W. Whiteside Award in recognition of outstanding services to the Faculty of Law, legal community and community of Windsor.


Lisa Bolton

Lisa Bolton practices law with Sherrard Kuzz LLP, one of Canada’s leading employment and labour law firms representing employers. Lisa is an experienced litigator with expertise in the full range of management-side workplace litigation including: wrongful and constructive dismissal; occupational health and safety; workplace safety and insurance; restrictive covenant litigation; grievance arbitrations; strike preparation, business continuity and labour injunctions.

Lisa also regularly assists clients prepare for regulatory audits and inspections; and develop and implement employment contracts, workplace policies, and compliance strategies. A former General Counsel of a public, multinational technology company headquartered in Oakville, Ontario, Lisa has a wealth of experience and is a frequent speaker at conferences seminars relating to workplace issues.


Sundeep  Gokhale

Sundeep is a highly accomplished lawyer whose practice is focused on the representation of management in many areas of employment and labour law with particular emphasis on labour relations, positive employee relations, collective bargaining, employment law, human rights and accommodation, and responding to union organizing and applications for certification.

Sundeep is frequently asked to speak at industry conferences and lead webinars on a variety of topics related to his practice. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, Ontario Bar Association (Labour & Employment, Construction Law, Civil Litigation, Constitutional, Civil Liberties, Human Rights, Young Lawyers), South Asian Bar Association (Toronto Chapter) and the Law Society of Upper Canada. He volunteers his time to Ovarian Cancer Canada and has taught employment and labour law at Conestoga College.

Sundeep is a graduate of the University of Windsor Law School, having obtained his Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree (Labour Studies) from McMaster University. Sundeep was a summer and articling student with Sherrard Kuzz LLP.


Iouri Vorobiev

Iouri is a skilled lawyer representing and advising employers in a broad range of employment and labour law. Iouri began his career with Sherrard Kuzz LLP as a summer student and then articled with the firm during which time he participated in a secondment with a large public sector client.

Iouri is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, Canadian Bar Association and Ontario Bar Association (Labour & Employment, Civil Litigation, Constitutional, Civil Liberties and Human Rights, Workers’Compensation, and Young Lawyers).

Iouri obtained his law degree from Queen's University where he received several awards for his academic achievements. Prior to law school, Iouri obtained a Bachelor of Administrative Studies with an emphasis in Marketing from York University.
