Effective networking is a fundamental competency that all business professionals need, though many don’t really know what networking is.
The session will focus on the value of professional networking and practical, simple ways to build your network, so that the process becomes a more natural, ongoing activity.
Participants will come away from the session with:
- an understanding of what may be holding them back from networking,
- effective ways to grow their network
- increased comfort level when establishing new professional connections both in person and through social media (Ie. LinkedIn).

Michele is the owner of Meglyn Consulting, helping small businesses to improve their productivity and employer reputation through leadership behaviours and employee engagement. She is also a Certified Coach Practitioner, providing customized career transition and job search support. Michele is known for being a charismatic speaker, an engaging facilitator and a positive mentor for aspiring HR professionals. With almost 30 years in HR, Michele has worked in both private and public sectors, with entrepreneurs, large multinational and global corporations, across various industries from insurance to biotechnology, spending 10 years in Senior Management roles in mining and heavy equipment and working for many years at a very well known entrepreneurial online dating company when they were first staring out. Michele has a degree in Psychology, holds both a Business Diploma and Executive Management Certificate and obtained her CHRM designation from the HRPAO in the early 1990’s. Michele is passionate about advancing the profile of the HR function and ensuring that HR professionals are seen as influencers, having sustainable, profound impacts on leadership competency and business results.
