Financial 1st Aid for HR Professionals is an interactive and engaging 1 ½ hour workshop that will empower HR professionals with the knowledge needed when working with employees who may be experiencing financial distress.

Participants will learn to understand and recognize the signs and symptoms of financial distress, have the gentle money chat, and refer to resources in the community.List THREE Specific Learning Objectives:There are several benefits to investing in the financial well-being of employees including better overall mental and physical well-being for individuals, increased confidence when it comes to money, as well as higher productivity for the organization.

This workshop will help learners recognize the signs of financial stress. As an HR Professional, knowing how to recognize those emotional and other cues individuals demonstrate when struggling financially, can be the first step in being able to recognize team trends allowing supports to be implemented.

Upon completion, learners will be able to articulate the impacts of financial stress on both employees and employer. This understanding can allow HR Professionals clarity around assessing any current impacts in their own workforce as well as options to consider for any action plans around an employee financial wellness support.

Additionally, this workshop will provide practical, usable resources that can be used to support employees in their financial well-being. HR Professionals can use these tools and resources at their discretion as appropriate.

Amanda Martin

As a Financial Educator with the Credit Counselling Society, Amanda applies over a dozen years of experience in the financial sector to develop and present impactful financial wellness webinars and programs. By connecting workplaces and communities to financial education and resources, Amanda strives to create opportunities for people to learn and grow their financial knowledge and wellness. Amanda brings practical, firsthand knowledge with a relatable approach to her discussions about money, drawing on her background in social services, mortgage lending and collections. Amanda is a Certified Educator in Personal Finance (CEPF), and has an Addictions and Community Services Worker Certification.
