What happens to staff who 'get by' with managers who rarely communicate? Over time, high-performing employees can go from thriving to barely surviving. Many leaders are unaware the human brain craves the connection only a conversation can give. Let's help our leaders reframe the value of workplace communication. In this session speaker Janet Hueglin Hartwick shares the Four Sparks of Success and review easy tips to promote meaningful dialogue that builds social trust. We will learn to debunk old-fashioned "professional" communication tips; discover the value of speaking to a team member's "mental gatekeeper"; and help our managers decode what an employee wants to hear. We will also check-in with our own needs and receive ideas on how to reintroduce HR as a helpful business partner.

Janet Hueglin Hartwick, President

Janet Hueglin Hartwick inspires professionals to become confident and effective communicators. She is the founder of Conversations@Work, a first of its kind communications training program that promotes mental fitness and resilience. Over the course of her career, Janet has motivated leaders in many sectors, from the public service to municipal government and from agriculture organizations to trade associations. Janet is also the President of Soilleirich Communications Group, a consultancy that specializes in corporate and employee communications. Her work has been recognized with 12 national awards in the areas of corporate communications, advertising and government relations.
