In this 45-60 minute presentation, with interactive polls and Q&A, Pete will educate and inspire HR professionals to build more socially connected employees as the foundational element of a happy, healthy and more productive workforce. Pete will share his his six year journey leading Canada's Human Connection Movement, the history of human connection, and how we ended up being the most disconnected society in history, even before the global pandemic.

Human connection has always been at the heart of successful business, but the global pandemic and the hybrid work format, has made it even more important to have an understanding and strategy around building the more connected workforce that will see your people and your organization thrive.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understanding the negative implications of a disconnected workforce and the positive benefits of human connection, gaining support for human connection as the foundation of a successful business and people.
  2. Recognition of the many ways in which we can build healthier connection habits, at the office, at home or in co-working spaces, so we can empower our employees and leadership to take some personal responsibility for themselves and their colleagues in building healthier connection habits.
  3. Tips, tools and ideas on how leaders can start building healthier connection habits in the workplace by implementing an ongoing connection plan.

Pete Bombaci

Pete Bombaci is a visionary business and social change leader who believes that by doing the right thing every day, exceptional results are created. In 2016, Pete launched The GenWell Project, a Canadian led, Global Human Connection Movement, which has recently become more relevant than ever, including as a result of receiving a $750,000 grant, in partnership with the Canadian Institute for Social Connection, to develop the social connection guidelines for Canadians. The mission of The GenWell Project is to make the world a happier and healthier place by educating, empowering, and catalyzing people around the importance of proactive face-to-face social connection as an action we can all take for our health, happiness, longevity, and the betterment of society. As a human connection expert, Pete is frequently called upon to share the knowledge and insights gained over six years leading the movement, in workplaces, schools, communities and more. Pete's experience in the not-for-profit field predates the founding of The GenWell Project, having successfully led the Movember Canada Foundation for nearly five years, growing the cause from a few thousand participants nationwide to the largest fundraising country worldwide, leading the team that raised $142 million dollars for men's health over that time. Prior to joining Movember Canada, Pete was a 20-year veteran of the beverage and hospitality industry, serving in roles from sales to brand management. Pete has been able to draw on these broad range of experiences in both the for-profit and not-for-profit fields in his work to build a more connected Canada.
