This presentation regarding vaccines in the workplace deals with the legal obligations of employers under occupational health and safety legislation in regards to COVID-19 vaccinations.  The presentation will address questions surrounding “mandatory” vaccinations, and balancing employee rights with business interests.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Understand the circumstances in which an employer may require employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment
  • Review employer obligations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act as it relates to COVID-19
  • Obtain a primer on frequently asked questions from employees and other stakeholders regarding COVID-19 vaccinations;

Warren Mouck, Associate

Warren Mouck is a workplace lawyer who understands business.  His varied work background, from the warehouse floor to the retail counter to the Human Resources Department, makes him an intuitive and effective advocate in the Courtroom.  Warren provides strategic legal advice and representation to individuals, businesses and institutions on workplace law.  He is experienced in litigating wrongful dismissal claims, and has represented clients at all levels of Court in Ontario, including the Ontario Court of Appeal. Warren has conducted hearings at the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal, as well as matters before the Ontario Labour Relations Board, including union certification, employment standards and occupational health & safety matters.
