In today's diverse and dynamic work environment, fostering a sense of belonging is crucial for employee well-being and organizational success. This presentation explores effective strategies to cultivate belonging through equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) initiatives in Canadian workplaces. We will delve into the importance of creating inclusive cultures where every individual feels valued and respected. Using both research and his personal journey, Yomi will explore key topics include understanding the principles of EDI, implementing inclusive policies, and promoting a culture of belonging. Attendees will gain insights into best practices, real-world examples, and actionable steps to enhance belonging within their organizations. Join us to discover how embracing diversity and fostering inclusion can lead to a more engaged, innovative, and productive workforce.

Learning Objectives:

Understand the Core Principles of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI): Attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental concepts and importance of EDI in the workplace, including how these principles contribute to a sense of belonging. Attendees will also understand the business case for EDI.

Identify and Implement Inclusive Policies and Practices: Participants will learn how to develop and apply inclusive policies and practices that promote equity and diversity, ensuring that all employees feel valued and included. Using real examples, attendees will understand the gaps that lead employees not to have a sense of belonging in the workplace.
