In HR, we engage in selling and negotiating opinions, services and approaches many times each day. Any interaction at work may be an opportunity to demonstrate our expertise, gain support from others or influence outcomes. And yet, how often have we left money on the table or experienced buyer’s remorse because our contribution was undervalued, or because we accepted a solution too quickly? How frequently do we challenge assumptions about those initial requests from Clients and Vendors?

Data is just data without insights. Dots remain dots until connected to tell stories about business impact. Until we defer judgment and embrace innovative thinking, negotiation results will remain suboptimal.

HR professionals who apply critical and creative thinking skills to develop innovative strategies and alternative solutions get winning business results. Those who are courageous and manage well in the moment become winning negotiators. Effective negotiation means faster agreement or compliance which increases value perception and lessens frustration in your HR role.

Attending this inspiring and empowering session will provide you with confidence and hands-on tactics to:

  • Create credibility with stakeholders to negotiate for balanced “value exchange,
  • Analyze root cause, needs and shared outcomes to strategize and negotiate independently and assertively,
  • Adapt positively to pressure, setbacks, challenges and change to achieve and sustain higher levels of personal effectiveness.

A “no show/late cancellation” fee will be charged if cancellation is not provided to chaptercancellations@hrpa.ca at least 3 business days in advance.

Registrations will NOT be accepted at the door.
