Peter Hiddema

Peter Hiddema is a world-class communication and presentation skills coach and facilitator with more than 25 years of experience helping Fortune 500 companies, executives, and organizational leaders communicate with greater clarity, confidence, and impact.

His expertise includes business communication and presentation skills, negotiation, collaboration, conflict management, and leadership communication.

Through Commanding Presence, Peter partners with HR departments, Learning & Development teams, and organizational leaders to help professionals strengthen communication effectiveness, executive presence, and workplace leadership skills through highly practical, coaching-based training programs. He is also the founder of Common Outlook Consulting Inc.

Peter has worked across a wide range of organizational environments around the world. In addition to corporate leadership training, he has worked with the World Health Organization, the Inter-American Development Bank, international non-governmental organizations, universities, national and regional government bodies, and indigenous peoples. Peter is also a Visiting Professor at INSEAD  The Business School for the World, teaching in France and Singapore. He has lectured at Queens University (Canada and the UK), Harvard University (USA), and other leading institutions.

Peter began his career in finance and banking with the Royal Bank of Canada in Toronto, Canada, and London, England. He holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from McMaster University, an MBA from Queens University (Canada), and an Executive Masters Degree in Consulting and Coaching for Change from INSEAD (France). Peter speaks four languages, has lived in six countries across four continents, and has travelled to more than 50 countries.

He is curious by nature and considers himself a perpetual student in the school of life.
