The pandemic has changed attitudes towards work. Many have worked from home during the pandemic and will be unwilling or unable to return to working at the office. Also, residual legal issues like employees refusing to be vaccinated or considering themselves to have been constructively dismissed as a result of layoffs during the pandemic are working their way through tribunals and courts. Finally, with a newly-elected PC government in Ontario, we are likely to see continuing legislation coming from the Minister of Labour and are unlikely to see previous legislation repealed.
This session is designed to give HRPA members legal insight into the external winds that are buffeting the workplace.
