Panel discussion regarding cover letters and resumes. This topic will include a discussion with an expert panel covering strategies and tips on resume development and cover letters followed by a question and answer segment to discuss questions from the audience with the expert panel members.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand how best to develop your cover letters and resumes for maximum impact, the format, contents, keywords, etc. As well, to learn about strategies students and new HR professionals or internationally relocated HR professionals can use to develop a resume that is relevant for the local talent market. Takeaway some Dos and Don't and practical tips in this regard.
- Understand how best to leverage other related tools in the job search strategy such as social media (LinkedIn etc.)
- Learn about how recruiters and hiring managers evaluate resumes and candidate professional backgrounds from the employer perspective, understand how the recruitment technology (such as job boards and applicant tracking systems) work and how best to present your qualifications to maximize your prospects.
During registration, please consider the donation option. Donated funds collected through this event registration will be equally divided between Indspire and Black Youth Helpline, preferred charities identified by HRPA members in a recent survey.
CANCELLATION POLICY: ALL cancellations MUST be received in writing, 3 business days in advance of the event, to chaptercancellations@hrpa.ca.
