Research has shown that high levels of resilience can deliver valuable work-related outcomes for individuals, helping people recover faster from difficulties, reduce stress, improve job performance, develop positive attitudes, and sustain higher levels of wellbeing and fulfillment at work. Resilience has implications for business too, especially during times of challenge and change. Having employees who are resilient under duress, and who can adapt quickly to changing circumstances, can benefit not only individuals but teams and the organization as a whole. In today's world of constant change and with continued pressure to do more with less and be effective virtually, HR and business professionals, in particular, are even more in need of adaptability through agility, speed, and flexibility of thought.  

Join us as Deborah Jann presents a model of resilience that supports participants in recovering from setbacks and rebounding to higher levels of success. The business-focused content supports us in enhancing our personal resilience so we can strengthen our overall wellbeing and adaptability which drives more innovative solutions and better business results.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this session, attendees will be able to:
State the model of resilience to help adapt positively to pressure, setbacks, challenges, and change to achieve and
sustain higher levels of personal effectiveness

Apply tips and techniques to improve the resilience ‘muscle’, i.e., reflect, reframe and redirect efforts to feel a greater sense of control and security in times of change and challenge

Enhance resilience to handle change and challenge in a virtual environment and VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous) world and engage others in productive ways to deal with difficult situations and seek support

Deborah Jann

Deborah is Vice President, Client Experience and Growth at Connective Intelligence Inc., an international management consultancy, where she draws on 25+ years of experience in HR and innovation consulting, adult education, psychometric assessment, leadership development, team effectiveness and culture transformation. Deborah is a Master Facilitator in Effective Intelligence®, emotional intelligence, creative problem solving and resilience. She is also a trained Management Coach and Certified Assessor of numerous psychometric assessments. Alongside the clients she serves at Connective Intelligence Inc., Deborah facilitates an Executive Peer Forum Group in Halton Region for Innovators Alliance and teaches resilience and emotional intelligence courses as an industry practitioner instructor at the Schulich Executive Education Centre, at York University. Deborah was recently featured in York University’s alumni magazine, where she discussed resilience during a pandemic and the current chaotic state of the economy. A popular presenter and facilitator, Deborah has presented at the national conferences of Retail Council of Canada, Human Resources Professionals Association, Institute for Performance and Learning, Creative Problem Solving Institute, Municipal Innovators Community, and Women in Leadership and Business. Deborah volunteers for Daily Bread Food Bank, Halton Region and Strategic Capability Network, where she serves as Strategic Advisor to the Board.
