Featured Themes for October 27th Meeting:

1. Find Your Way:

You know the problem, how you’re currently trying to solve it, and what dimensions of performance matter. The key here is understanding that you're not alone. If you're having this problem, it's likely hundreds of thousands of others are in the same boat. There's your market.

Topic: A collective culture making sustainable change: BMO’s commitment to Diversity and Inclusion

Diversity and Inclusion matter. The power and competitive advantage they offer is powerful. Every organization has an important role to play to help remove barriers to success—whether by addressing systemic issues, or by helping people to widen their own lens on the world and discover new ways to reach their potential. At BMO, our efforts to collectively shape our culture has focused on increasing workforce diversity and workplace inclusion in a sustainable way, aligning with what our employees and customers expect from us. With close to 47,000 employees and a growing global footprint, BMO’s strategic approach to driving diversity and inclusion has transformed our senior leadership ranks, talent pipeline and organizational culture. We have also put a stake in the ground to become the bank for women, leading the financial services industry in rethinking their approach to developing and building relationships with women in business. By harnessing the commitment of our leaders and the passion of our employees, BMO has driven change from within to drive performance in the market.

Join Sonya Kunkel, Chief Inclusion Officer and Vice President, People Strategies & Insights, BMO Financial Group for a session about organizational success in Diversity and Inclusion programs

2. Global View:

Globalization affects any organization’s business approach. From exposure to a wider market and inexpensive labour to the HR challenge of adapting to foreign workplace cultures, your business has to devise strategies to maintain clientele and remain competitive globally.

Topic: Unlock Your Organization's Potential Identifying & Developing High Potential Talent

The facts are well known. High potential employees deliver results, drive productivity and go farther in an organization than their peers. An organization rich in high potential talent not only delivers superiors results today, but also has a robust pipeline of leaders to run the organization tomorrow. Talent is a competitive advantage, so creating and nurturing a high potential talent pool makes good business sense.

While this concept may appear simple, making it a reality is more challenging. This session presented by Norm Sabapathy, Executive Vice President, People, The Cadillac Fairview Corporation will cover strategies and techniques relating to developing a business case for, then realizing a return on a "hipo" investment. Learn how to identify, engage and develop your high potential talent to take your business to the next level.

3. The Future is Now::

The future hasn’t happened yet, but many people act as if it has. The truth is that the future will catch us by surprise – but that doesn’t mean we can’t prepare for it.

Topic: The Evolution of Performance and Development at Starbucks

The business landscape is changing quickly, and organizations have to evolve in order to retain the best talent. Yet even so, performance management and talent development are areas that don’t always receive the necessary attention.

Starbucks identified performance and development as key priorities for the business and began an evolution in its approach to each. In this presentation, hear how Starbucks moved from a traditional performance approach – including performance ratings – to one that includes regular two-way performance and development conversations with no ratings, based on the insights of neuroscience. Learn how this approach is transforming interactions, elevating performance and development and supporting a young workforce to achieve results.

Space is limited to 28 attendees.
