In this workshop, discover how HR metrics and data analytics can help your organizations solve real-world business challenges and drive innovation and performance.  Guest speaker Nick Iannarelli, a Talent Acquisition and Data Administrator of Absorb Software will share tips and tricks to improve HR initiatives using HR metrics and analytics.  Nick Farnell, Program Coordinator for Niagara College’s Data Analytics Program, will share stories of how the Program has supported and collaborated with local businesses to improve their data analytics initiatives.

Learning Objectives:

  • To understand analytics fundamentals and how analytics drives business performance and innovation.
  • To effectively use HR metrics and analytics to measure workforce performance, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness.
  • To demonstrate how analytics can be used to solve real-world business challenges.

Speaker bio(s)
Nicholas Iannarelli

Nick Iannarelli is a Talent Acquisition and Data Administrator at Absorb Software, and teaches HR Metrics and Data at Niagara College. Nick's experience since graduating with a BBa in Human Resources, along with a Post-Graduate Certificate in Data Analytics, has been in managing recruiting coordination and applicant tracking system databases. Nick has a passion for combining software, data analysis, and HR metrics to help teams improve decision making and efficiency, and has been accomplishing this in the Software as a Service (SaaS) industry for the past 4 years.


Nick Farnell

Nick Farnell is a faculty member in the School of Business and Management and program coordinator of the Business Analytics post-graduate program. Over the last 15 years Nick has had the opportunity to teach data focused courses at the intersection of business, technology, and media at the diploma, degree, and post-graduate level. In addition to being inside the classroom, Nick has held a number of management and support roles within post-secondary institutions in Ontario. Always interested in strategy and technology, he completed an undergraduate degree in applied technology, a post-graduate certificate in interactive multimedia, and an MBA with a focus on technology and innovation.
