Navigating workplace conflict presents a significant challenge for professionals in human resources, supervision, and management roles. Particularly intricate are conflicts revolving around interpersonal dynamics, harassment allegations, and clashes in personalities.

This comprehensive workshop delves into the pivotal concepts of Emotional Intelligence and Empathy within the realm of workplace conflict resolution. Through concise case studies, attendees will gain insights into comprehending, anticipating, and effectively managing both their own emotions and those of others embroiled in conflicts. The cultivation of empathetic listening skills will be emphasized, serving as a crucial tool for diffusing tensions and fostering constructive relationships.

Recognizing that conflict resolution is intricately influenced by various contextual factors—including diverse perspectives, power structures, organizational culture, and communication hurdles—the workshop provides practical examples of interpersonal conflicts. Participants will be guided in employing emotional intelligence and empathy techniques to explore practical, emotionally-informed approaches to conflict resolution scenarios.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • To understand the role of empathy in assessing others' perspectives, building rapport, and fostering positive relationships.
  • To apply the principles of emotional intelligence to anticipate and de-escalate conflicts.
