Northwestern 03.24.21 VIRTUAL Guess the Notice

Employment lawyer and wannabe gameshow host Jordan Lester brings us the latest version of his gameshow series: Guess the Notice!

In year’s past, Jordan has brought HRPANO such games as Cause or No Cause? and Discrimination or No Discrimination?.This year, Jordan will be testing HRPANO members on their ability to guess the common law notice period for dismissed employees. 
Not only with Guess the Notice! get the attendees thinking about the art of calculating notice periods, but there will also be lavish and fabulous prizes!

Speaker bio(s)
Jordan Lester

Jordan is an associate lawyer with Cheadles LLP. He obtained a Juris Doctor in 2011 from Bond University in Queensland, Australia, and a Bachelor of Journalism Honours in 2006 from the University of King’s College in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Jordan graduated law school with Division A Honours, receiving the faculty’s High Distinction in both Corporations Law and Business Associations. In addition to his academic achievements, Jordan was chosen to represent his school at a national Constitutional Law moot in Canberra, ACT, won the Blake Dawson client interview competition, and was a finalist in the faculty’s cross-examination competition.

Before entering the world of law, Jordan spent several years as a reporter for the CBC. He split his time between the stations in Thunder Bay, Sudbury and Winnipeg. He has filed stories at the regional, provincial and national level, making regular contributions to programs such as World Report, Ontario Today, and The World This Weekend.
Jordan also spent time hosting Voyage North, the afternoon show for Northwestern Ontario. Jordan is very active with various not-for-profit organizations in Thunder Bay, and in his spare time he enjoys snowboarding, playing hockey, fishing and watching the Blue Jays.

Jordan has successfully represented clients while appearing before the Superior Court of Justice, Ontario Court of Justice, Provincial Offences Court, Small Claims Court, Ontario Human Rights Tribunal, Ontario Labour Relations Board and the Landlord and Tenant Board.
