DURHAM: 04.29.2020 Interviewing & Technology ENG Session #3
Employers will have met you first digitally, whether that be through your resume submitted online, through social media like LinkedIn, or in an online interview. It's very important that you nail who you are and what you can offer using technology. This interactive workshop will delve into these critical areas of your job search with a twist. You can't tell someone about yourself unless you know yourself well - who you are, what you offer, and are ready to provide the evidence to support your claim. Whether you are a seasoned veteran in the job search market, or a new entry, this portion of the evening will include clarifying what is meant by a personal brand, how to generate great things about you, and how to use it in your job search and throughout your career. A different twist on a standard topic will be presented from the perspective of why people fail interviews. An interactive segment, ideas of 'what not to do before, during, and after an interview' will be discussed. The result will be a list of tried and true ways to be successful before you enter the interview, what to say and how to behave during the interview, and finally how to follow up after the interview.
In the COVID/Post-COVID era, online meetings and interviews are the new-norm. This session is equally crucial for HR professionals/Interviewers and the candidates to maximize the outcome of an online meeting/interview;
