Please join us on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, as we host the annual Thousand Islands ABM, but more importantly, we recognize the efforts of our volunteers within the Thousand Islands Chapter.  In addition we will recognize those members who have recently attained their accreditation with HRPA.   Let's come together as a Chapter to celebrate the efforts and accomplishments of our Volunteers and Accredited Members.

Speaker bio(s)
Keagan Davis-Burns

Keagan is an Associate Lawyer in Cunningham Swan's Labour and Employment Law group. Keagan obtained her undergraduate degree in Linguistics at the University of Western Ontario prior to attaining her Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa. While at law school, Keagan worked at the University of Ottawa Community Legal Clinic representing members of low-income communities in tenancy disputes. Keagan practiced in both Ottawa and Toronto before returning to her hometown of Kingston, where she now practices exclusively in labour and employment law. She sits on the Board of Directors of Dress for Success - Kingston, which seeks to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a support network, professional attire, and development programs to help women thrive in work and in life. She also sits on the Board of Directors of the Ontario Bar Association and is the social committee chair for the Frontenac Law Association.


Andrea Risk, Lawyer

Andrea is a partner in Cunningham Swan’s Labour & Employment Group. She graduated from Queen’s University in 1999 with numerous awards for outstanding achievement, including earning the highest standing in her graduating class. Prior to joining Cunningham Swan, she practised for several years with a major national law firm and gained significant trial experience. Andrea regularly assists employers by providing highly specialized and experienced assistance with legal aspects of all workplace issues. She has appeared before tribunals and all levels of court including the Supreme Court of Canada.
