Leading From Behind the Screen: Business Leaders Adapting To Virtual Performance Management
Businesses of all sizes and industries have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, which has forced organizations to deal with the virtual world of work and keep operational without a physical office. The traditional in-person 9-5 work structure has proven to be a constraint influencing talent attraction, management, and retention.
In this session, participants will learn about the competencies to support employees and drive results are seeing success using a virtual work model. Leaders need to adapt to the needs of a remote environment while continuing to use many of their current skill sets to communicate, hold employees accountable, build relationships, embrace flexibility, and recognize efforts. These competencies lead to enhanced employee engagement, increased productivity, and retention.
Learners will be able to:
- Understand current business trends post-pandemic in regard to virtual/hybrid work teams
- Describe the competencies required to successfully lead a virtual work team
- Review reasons why traditional co-located leadership styles may differ than the needs of a virtual work team
