Speakers:

Evan Campbell 

Evan  Campbell is an employment/labour and litigation lawyer with Miller Thomson LLP.   He provides proactive advice to employers on a variety of issues including discipline and terminations, employment standards, human rights, employment contracts and workplace policies, workplace safety and insurance, health and safety and industrial and construction labour relations.  

Evan has extensive experience litigating matters involving wrongful dismissals, corporate and commercial disputes, grievance arbitrations, the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and the Labour Relations Act. He regularly represents clients before the courts and numerous administrative tribunals including the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal.

Evan is practical, straightforward, and committed to providing exceptional service by understanding the issues facing his clients.

 

Carol VandenHoek

Carol VandenHoek is a partner in Miller Thomson's Guelph office and has over 20 years of experience in employment law, litigation including estate matters, agriculture law, and child protection law. Carol's emphasis on creative solutions is paired with her strong advocacy skills before the court and tribunals. Carol earned her law degree at the University of Toronto, and in 2009 completed her Masters of Law in Labour Relations and Employment Law. Carol also holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto.

Carol acts for employers, and her practice focuses on human rights, discrimination and accommodation, employment standards, discharge, discipline, wrongful dismissal, and policy development and implementation.  Carol also conducts workplace investigations including investigations for harassment, violence, and bullying complaints.

 

Michael Cleveland

Michael Cleveland provides employers with practical and timely advice on a wide variety of labour and employment law matters including employment standards, labour relations, human rights, occupational health and safety, privacy, and wrongful dismissals. He acts for employers in the provincial and federal sectors in both unionized and non-unionized workplaces.

Michael summered and articled with Miller Thomson before returning to the firm as an associate.  He received his J.D. from the University of Toronto in 2019 and was to the Ontario Bar in 2020.
