Ontario’s amendment to its Employment Standards Act, called the “Working for Workers Act”, has brought about some progressive and modern changes to the workplace.  Among other things, the Working for Workers Act requires organizations that employ 25 or more employees to have in place a written policy on the electronic monitoring of its employees. This policy is required by November 10, 2022 – meaning it will be a tight turn around for employers to get the policy in place.

We will discuss what this change entails, and what protections this actually provides for workers concerned with monitoring in the workplace.

Learning Objectives

  • To understand the requirements around workplace monitoring policies in Ontario
  • To discuss the potential terms of these policies
  • To consider the relevant deadlines
  • To have a discussion around the impact this may have on the workplace

Who should attend this program?

Tailored to HR professionals/business owners wanting to understand their new obligations, employees wanting to understand their rights, or both.
