The speakers will describe the importance of using up-to-date and carefully prepared written employment agreements, review uncommon terms of employment agreements that could be used by HR professionals on a case by case basis as well as review common issues/shortcomings in standard terms of employment contracts and how to fix them.

Speaker bio(s)
Jennifer Costin

Jennifer is a partner at Siskinds Law Firm's London office and practices exclusively in the area of management-side labour and employment law. In this role, Jennifer advises organizations on matters related to hiring, discipline, human rights issues and particularly accommodation, policies, procedures, terminations, wrongful dismissal lawsuits, grievance and arbitration matters and administrative complaints. Jennifer has extensive experience in conducting workplace investigations related to harassment, bullying, violence, theft and breaches of policies. Jennifer is attuned to clients' needs and goals and works with employers to craft the best approach to workplace issues. Jennifer works as a business partner to her corporate clients, identifying legal issues as early as possible and working with the client to find the strategy to address those issues that best suits their needs.


Liam Ledgerwood

Liam J. Ledgerwood is an associate with our labour and employment group and provides a wide range of practical and creative solutions for employers. In this role, Liam provides both effective advocacy before courts and administrative tribunals and pragmatic day-to-day advice to employers. Prior to joining the labour and employment group, Liam received his Juris Doctor from Western University's Faculty of Law and articled with Siskinds.
