Employee engagement has become critical to the success of many organizations and a centerpiece of many HR initiatives. Studies have shown that higher levels of engagement promote retention of key talent, create customer loyalty and improve organizational performance. Importantly, engaged employees are happier, both at work and in their lives. But how can HR practitioners lead employee engagement and culture programs, and how can sell business leaders on these programs? This session will give HR professionals a chance to dig in on a real-life example so they can take those learnings and apply them to their own organizations.

Presentation of “case study” problem by ACSA Executive Director, Lee Soda. Lee will discuss the challenges in engaging employees and some things that the organization has tried in the past, and pose the challenge to teams – “Knowing that we have highly limited funds, how can we improve employee engagement at ACSA?”

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Identify best practices when it comes to employee engagement.
  • Think critically about what types of employee engagement activities are the best fit for a given context.
  • Learn from peers on how they would approach a particular employee engagement problem.
