Madeleine Barker, Senior Director, Strategic Workforce Initiatives

Madeleine is the Senior Director, Strategic Workforce Initiatives at RBC where she leads a team focused on preparing employees and young people for the future of work. A passionate advocate for young people, she and her team develop key programs and initiatives that positively impact the work readiness of early in career individuals; to unlock their potential and launch their careers.

Prior to her current role, she led the strategic direction of RBC’s development programs to attract and develop diverse early talent. One of the signature programs, RBC Career Launch offers recent college and university graduates across Canada a unique one year paid internship designed to help them transition from education to employment and break the ‘no experience-no job’ cycle.

Over her 20 years in financial services, Madeleine’s diverse career includes experience serving clients and leading teams in branches, work in communications, change management, business and people strategy.

Madeleine has a Bachelor’s Degree from McGill University and a Personal Financial Planning designation.
