Skilled immigrants can offer employers valuable skill sets and international expertise that can help companies grow their operations. Yet accessing this increasingly important talent pool can be difficult for employers who don't know how or where to start.

Hire Immigrants provides employers with tips, tools and relevant information and resources that help employers better understand and access the immigrant talent pipeline. A program at the Global Diversity Exchange – a "think-and-do" tank at Ryerson University's Ted Rogers School of Management – Hire Immigrants is focused on providing employer-centred solutions to the challenges they face recruiting, hiring, and retaining immigrant talent.

This webinar will provides listeners with case studies of employers that looked to immigrant talent and labour to solve immediate labour market and skills needs, and the innovative strategies they employed to address barriers and challenge.

  • Learn about innovative HR practices that facilitate successful entry of immigrant talent into sectors facing immediate labour market needs

  • Learn about successful employer initiatives and practices that can be replicated across sectors and industries

  • Understand the role and importance of organizational culture, from executives to working level staff, in creating a welcoming work environment for internationally trained individuals
