Speaker bio(s)
Cynthia Ingram

A Senior Employment Lawyer who is respected by her clients and peers alike. She provides strategic advice and representation to businesses of various sizes and diverse industries on human resource and employment-related matters, including OSHA requirements and risk management. With a focus on management needs, she works alongside the HR and Corporate Security divisions of businesses ranging from family-owned businesses and start-ups, to large public and multi-national corporations to provide strategic advice and support towards sound employment and workplace policies and practice.
With both commercial and in-house experience, Cynthia is recognized for developing a unique alliance with her clients – developing strategies to enable them to navigate all statutory and HR obligations to achieve their best result. Her wide range of experience includes counseling and representing clients on issues including hiring practices, employment and service agreements, employee policies and procedures, performance management, managing leaves of absence, employee discipline and termination, health and safety, and discrimination and harassment. She also provides comprehensive advice to Senior Management and executives on compensation and share entitlements. A skilled litigator, her expertise includes advising clients in the practical avoidance of litigation on contentious workplace and employment disputes, and representing clients before all levels of Courts and administrative tribunals if and when litigation results.
Cynthia’s experience with workplace investigations includes assisting and advising owners and HR personnel on all aspects of workplace investigations, including providing an objective review and assessment of workplace complaints and allegations of employee misconduct.
Cynthia works with clients to develop and deliver tailored training on obligations and compliance regarding risk-management, OSHA, Bill 132, performance management, media and PR, and effective workplace investigations.
Cynthia’s passion in working for her clients is equalled by her passion for volunteerism and supporting youth development. Beyond her professional career, Cynthia is a working mother of two. Her commitment to her family and the broader community sees her volunteering in several capacities in her local school, dance and lacrosse communities. In 2014, Cynthia was honoured to participate in the Community Foundation of Mississauga’s Dancing with the Mississauga Stars, bringing home the coveted mirror ball trophy and raising funds in support of the Foundation’s work for and in the Mississauga community. Most recently, Cynthia acted as Assistant Coach and Team Manager of 2014 Oakville Lady Hawks U11, and Team Manager of the 2015 and 2016 U13-2 squads, watching with pride as the squads achieved success as the Ontario Women’s’ Field Lacrosse Provincial Champions in 2014 and 2016.
Cynthia completed her Bachelor of Arts, Economics at the University of Western Ontario in 1990, and a Bachelor of Laws at the University of British Columbia in 1993, including studies at the UC Hastings College of Law. Cynthia was admitted to the practice of law in 1995.
