The
1867 British North America Act created what is known as a “division of powers”,
delineating what powers fall within the jurisdiction of Canada’s federal
government, and what powers fall within the jurisdiction of the provinces. The jurisdiction for employment standards
legislation may be similarly divided, with some co-workers potentially be
subject to a different set of laws. This
webinar will cover the difference between the federal employment standards
legislation (the Canada Labour Code) and Ontario’s provincial legislation (the
Employment Standards Act, 2000)
