Speaker bio(s)
Afsana Gibson-Chowdhury

Afsana is the founder of Gibson Chowdhury, Clear Collaborative Mediation. She is a designated Qualified Mediator (Q.Med) and an Adjudicator for the Property Standards Committee in the City of Toronto. She is a British-trained lawyer with several years of civil litigation experience. Following her move to Canada, Afsana devotes 100% of her time to mediating Human Rights disputes; civil and commercial litigation matters. Afsana is also the 2021 recipient of the ADR Institute of Ontario Star Awards. (www.adrio.ca)

Afsana ensures she provides mediation through a diverse lens that represents the multicultural communities in Canada. In an effort to raise awareness of cultural competence and humility in the ADR field, Afsana has written several EDI programs. She also co-chaired the Working Group that produced the ‘Neutral Diversity in Ontario’ report, published by the Ontario Bar Association in 2022.

She provides a clear and collaborative mediation service by helping to create strategies and options for her clients, enabling them to determine a solution that best suits them.
