Sonia Boyle, Vice President, HR – GE Canada

Sonia Boyle is Vice President, Human Resources at GE Capital Canada. Her responsibilities include the development and execution of the HR strategy to drive growth across the business platform..


Sonia joined GE in January 2006 as HR Leader for Capital Solutions – Commercial Distribution Finance (CDF) Canada. After leading that business through an integration and cultural change, her role was expanded in 2010 to include the GE Capital Canada Commercial function and the Ontario Site HR leader, in addition to still being the HR Leader for CDF. In February 2011, she was promoted to Senior Human Resources Leader for GE Capital Canada. Her career expands over 20 years within progressive, senior Human Resources roles in industries as diverse as healthcare, manufacturing, and financial services. Prior to joining GE, Mrs. Boyle held senior roles at Maple Leaf Foods Inc., and Deloitte & Touche LLP..


Sonia holds two bachelor’s degrees (BA), in Labor Relations and Sociology, from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. She has also obtained her post-graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management and holds the designation of Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP). She is an active member of the Human Resources Professionals Association of Ontario (HRPA). Sonia resides in the Greater Toronto area with her husband and two children.



Leigh Brown, Vice President, Human Resources, Global Functions, RBC

Leigh Brown is VP Human Resources, Global Functions. In her role, she partners with multiple C-suite leaders to develop and drive business integrated people strategies and solutions. As a member of the Human Resources, Finance, and, Group Risk Management Operating Committees, she contributes to the development of overall strategy and direction.


An accomplished human resource professional with more than 18 years of experience, Leigh provides trusted advice and guidance on all aspects of human resources, including talent management, leadership & employee development, performance and workforce management, organizational change and design. Prior to her current role, Leigh held various HR roles both as an HR Business Partner and within the Talent Management Centre of Expertise. Before joining RBC in January 2010, Leigh was part of the human resources team of a major consumer goods organization as well as a life sciences company.


Leigh holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from McMaster University and a Masters in Organizational Leadership from the University of Guelph. She and her husband live in Hamilton with their two children.



Paul Pierroz, CHRE, SVP Business Services and HR

Paul Pierroz is the Senior Vice President, Business Services and Human Resources at Shawcor Ltd., a Toronto-based, global energy services company specializing in Pipeline Performance, Composite Production Systems, Inspection and Integrity Management, Oilfield Asset Management and Connection Systems. Shawcor operates through nine business units with over 7,000 employees serving customers from more than 100 locations in 18 countries in every major oil and gas producing region.


Paul joined Shawcor’s Executive Team in May 2008 and is responsible for Information Technology, Human Resources and Corporate Business Services including Marketing Communication and Business Intelligence. He is focused on building the unique organizational and business capabilities required to deliver the Shawcor strategy.


Prior to joining Shawcor, he held Senior Management positions with Barrick Gold Corporation, Amcor PET Packaging and Husky Injection Molding Systems in Canada and the United States.


Paul holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario and has completed the Advanced Program in Human Resources Management at the University of Toronto – Faculty of Management.
