This workshop explores both the theory and practical skills HR professionals need to use HR Metrics effectively: the definitions, components, and usages of various types of HR metrics, as well as data mining, spreadsheet math, and data visualization to calculate, report and use the metrics to make better decisions.

Important Information!!!

Introduction to HR Metrics is a hands-on program utilizing a portable computer with Microsoft Excel 2007 or higher installed.
A basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required and participants are advised to bring a mouse and power cord.

Technical Requirements

  • Portable Computer

  • Microsoft Excel (2007 or higher)

  • Windows version of Excel preferred

  • Please ensure that the computer security settings allow for files to be downloaded from a USB key or a cloud

Ashley Bennington, CHRL, SME, HR Analytics

Ashley Bennington is a Professor of Human Resources in the Pilon School of Business at Sheridan College, and also works part time as a senior advisor, specializing in HR metrics, at The CGI Group
He developed Canada’s first post-secondary course in HR metrics.
Ashley was an Adjunct Professor of Business at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, BC, and worked in HR metrics roles for BC Hydro and Fraser Health.
Ashley was previously a member of the BC HR Management Association, and was a recipient of their 2007 Rising Star Award and 2009 Award of Excellence – Innovation.
He has been a CHRP since 2006.
