Event Description
The workplace is transforming. Leaders need HR's guidance to navigate current issues and the emerging HR trends related to such extraordinary change. Some expect HR to be the subject matter experts, while others may be making decisions without HR's input, not recognizing the potential employee relations impact. And still others continue to see HR as an obstacle rather than a strategic partner.

What can HR do? HR can offer insight and influence business outcomes by first understanding how these trends relate to their company and then providing recommendations to address them. We need to identify ways to broaden our influence while ensuring that we give the best advice for the organization. This session will explore several ''hot topics'' HR is facing and help you to establish HR as an integral advisor to the leadership team's agenda. It will also address a common concern that HR is not provided with or allowed to obtain proper HR Law advice before embarking on new initiatives or actioning decisions that have been made, which can expose the organization to liability.

Learning Objectives
You will come away with:

  • Practical approaches to assess the relevance and urgency within your organization
  • Ways to identify and mitigate potential and/or existing legal risks
  • Straightforward tactics to enhance your ability to confront these topics with confidence
